Tape measure is a tool to quickly measure distances on your course plan.

To enable tape measure, choose command Tape measure from the Edit menu (default keyboard shortcut Ctrl-M) or push the tape button on the button toolbar.

To do the measurement, go to the starting point on your design, press the left mouse button and draw a curve. As you draw, the length of the curve will be displayed next to the mouse cursor. When you release the mouse button, the length and the curve will be still shown on the screen until you disable the measure tape the same way you enabled it. You can also continue the measurement of a new section.

If you want to measure distance in straight line, press Shift and keep it pressed while doing the measurement.

If you you want to measure while working with a zoom, when only a part of the design is visible on the screen, you can pan the view while doing the measurement by pressing Space and moving the mouse.
